One Christian Life?

The longer that I live and the more that I learn, the more I am convinced that Christianity is first and foremost a way of life.

It is not about having all the right answers or having a rightful claim to all the “I’ve nevers.”

It is about prayer, a life of dependency on God. It is about choosing to love and see the best in people who smell bad and talk mean.

It is about letting God grow a compassionate heart in you and then being angry and frustrated at God for all the things in the world that now break your heart.

It’s not about someone giving up their life so that we don’t have to. It’s about someone giving up their life to show us how it’s done.

It is about encountering God in places and among people you swore God had abandoned long ago.

It is about learning to trade power and money for things that really matter.

It is about learning from experience that God specializes in using seemingly insignificant acts of love and compassion given to hopeless causes to create things of beauty and transformation.

More than anything else, Christianity is a way of life, a life lived with God.

One Christian Life are the things that I am learning and seeing along the way.
