Planning to be Happy

I met guy the other day who I thought had a very depressing job, a similar job to one I have had before, so I thought I knew from experience how depressing it was. The strange thing was though, that the more time I spent with this man the more I realized that he wasn’t depressed at all … he was happy.

When we parted ways I said to him, “Have a great day.” He replied, “Thanks! I plan on it!”

Maybe that was it. Maybe he was happy, almost chipper, in spite of a seemingly depressing job because he planned to be.

Maybe your day and mine would be different, regardless of the circumstances, if we planned on being different.
